Goodbye 2007, Hello Future

It's 31st December. The end of 2007. Tomorrow, another year begins.

Let's do a little re-cap.

My 2007 started with a big change in my life. I got engaged in March. Can't believe it until now. Still can't believe it.

At this point of time, I realised that there are changes in life which you have to decide for the future. Marriage is one of them.

2008 will start with me trying my best to prepare myself for the big day. The akad and the reception. I have to make sure everything will run smoothly. Most importantly, to get myself ready for the future, with him. Will I be able to go through the life after marriage? Will I be a good wife? Will I be a mom? Will we live happily ever after?

I have to be realistic. I know I shouldn't be worrying too much bout it. Everybody (well, at least most people) has gone through it. I think with love, patience, understanding and iman we would survive till the end. Jodoh and Ajal are in Allah's hands. I pray for it to last till the very last breath.

In 2007, few friends of mine got married. Pejun & Bagok, Qayya, Juhaini, Milla & Mohsein. Kinu, Shaz, Haslina, Ilya & Ed. Not forgotten two of my 'guy friends' (if you get what I mean..ahaha) got married also. Congratulations. One of them whom I didn't expect to get married at this age, knowing his personality. Maybe he has changed. Yeah, probably.

Two friends (Al and Jastina) delivered boys. I'm sure they are happy and excited for the new life in their small family. Same goes to my brother and sister. Although the newborns are not their first ones, they are as excited as ever.

2007 has open my eyes wider to the world around me. The meaning of violence, corruption and hatered has been unfolded.

The world is full of rubbish. It's like a huge bin. Everything rot and bad is inside it.

My sympathy to Nurin Jazlin is undefineable. Such an innocent life, taken by brutality. And so does other lives. I pray for their peace up there.

2007 is a year full of realities. The truth which has never been revealed before.

Are we ready for the future? For better or worse?

Let's raise our hands and berdoa to Allah for a better year, 2008. Amin.

Pants up, you're under arrest!

Dato' Siti Nurhaliza

She is a songbird, a celebrity, one of the famous and richest Asian singers and last but not least an icon for thousands of Malaysians who believe that success is achieved through hard work.

But one thing for sure she is definitely and can never be an icon in fashion.
Just look at her appearance at her new album Hadiah Daripada Hati, launching ceremony in KL earlier this month.

This looks...fine. If she wants to look unique sometime, the headgear wouldn't be a problem. Even though she looks like a delegation from Africa.
You think you know, but you don't have an idea.
Wait until you see these pics..
Scroll down...
down again...
again...
Tadaaaa!

Disasterous outfit, this one.

Look at the high-waist blue pants. Is that PLKN uniform pants? Or was it the same pants worn by Dr. Sheikh on his mission to ISS?

Oh oh! There's an oversized belt too! Yeay!

God! What was she thinking? As if she has landed from moon and straight up to the launching without realizing she forgot to change her pants. And she forgot to look into the mirror. Probably the changing room doesn't have a mirror. Or probably it was blackout that time.

Let's not talk on other 'visible item' on her pants, shall we?

I blame her 100% on this. Common la. She's labelled as one of Malaysia's most influenced persons. She is a Dato' for God's sake. She can tell the designer to fly kite if she didn't like the outfit. I'm sure that other designers are willing to sacrifice their time to design something fit for her to be worn during the launch.

It's her own fault. She was the one to keep mum to her designer. She could have smashed the guy on his forehead and ask him to repeat fashion school 10 times more.

What can I say. She should've been arrested by the fashion police. If E! is in Malaysia, she should be voted as no. 1 worst dressed celeb in Malaysia. This is not her first (fashion) crime though, in fact she has committed few before she became famous.

But that was BEFORE she became famous, probably she didn't have fashion or image consultant back then. When she started become famous, her demure fashion was her trademark. People started to like her appearance. Sweet, innocent looking girl with naive personality.

After she got married, her fashion sense has becoming worst. It's like a plague. Every dress is horrorly worn. Her noticeable fatness is making it worst.

There's one thing that I have to say. Siti, you are guilty as charged!

Eh! A demure party?

Anggun - Demure = Modest

Part of the 20 Anggun ladies

The Stage

Remember about me winning tickets to the party of Eh! 20 yang anggun?

This is sort of a delayed report. Blame my busy life.

Anyway, the party sucked. Unexpectedly, the crowd was huge. Many celebrities were there. Nasha Aziz (she has wonderful soft skin), Maya Karin, Raja Farah, casts from 'Anak Halal', Zahida Rafik, etc etc etc to name a few.

Nasha Aziz

There were different people with 1001 styles and nonsense. You can easily find posers, (self-acclaimed) fashionistas, Eh! readers, alcoholics, party animals, celebs worshipers and not fogotten cakeboys. Yes. Cheek-kissing-guys were everywhere.

Isma Yusuf & Amir Luqman

Dynaz

I didn't get the idea of this party. What is it for and what is the purpose of it being held? I seriously didn't get it. The mag claimed that it was held to celebrate the 20 most demure women. Celebrities. Songstress, actress, models...

Ok fine.

If the theme or the purpose is to celebrate the yang angguns, why do it in a club? A club is not a demure and modest place. It's a well-known fact. I just don't think that the place is a proper place to celebrate demure people. Why didn't they do it in a hall or somewhere "modest"?

Budget?

Certainly budget is not the main issue, since the mag is doing well. And it's under BluInc.

It was supposed to start at 7pm (when all satans come out) but we only entered the club at 8.30pm. We were there before 6pm. The line was not that bad. People were queueing because they (read: we) wanted the goodie bag that worth RM100. Blimey. When I got the bag, I was like "What the hell are these?". I didn't expect that the 'things' inside it really worth that much. Humm.

The entertainment was so-so. MCs were Sazzy Falak and hubby Naz. The opening was by Abstrak Hingga ke Bulan. This was followed by The Fabulous Cats, Maya Karin (I prefer her modelling and acting than singing), Atillia, and not forgetting games by participating audiences.

The Fabulous Cats

The MCs : Sazzy Falak and hubby, Naz

I decided to leave during Atillia's performance, after realizing I can't really 'think' in this party. So, I say farewell to Pn. Asiah Mion (she was at the entrance when we left), went out of Ruums (share the lift with Nurul AF2; she's soooo-kamrah for an artist)

And I ended paying blinking RM20 for parking. Great. Just great.

How wonderful a Monday could be

To welcome a new person indeed

A child, a boy

Who's face as sweet as an angel

Don't cry o'child

I'll be by your side

Always and forever

Me Love Thee, Beatles

I love The Beatles.

I grew up with their songs. I love their films - Help! and A Hard Day's Night. I don't have any idea whether they have any other film than the two.

"Sorry we hurt your field, Mister" - George

"I now declare this bridge open" (and he cut off the measuring tape) - John

"Somebody wants to cut mi fingy you know" - Ringo

"Doesn't the blood rush into your stomach?" - Paul

I love them. I love them all.

(Un?)Lucky Friday

I didn't get to write yesterday due to my busy schedule.

(Yeah rite).

I was late to work. It's Friday and laziness says hello again.

While putting my make-up on, I heard this contest going on the radio about 2 free passes to go to 'EH! 20 Yang Anggun' party nest Saturday. So I picked up the phone and started typing and sent it.

3 minutes later: "Pemenangnya ialah....."

And they mentioned my full (long) name.

I won.

I never win anything from the radio. I didn't feel 'that' excited though. It's just two damn passes to a party full of gediks people a.k.a the Malaysian celebrities.

I have to find suitable clothes, since my wardrobe doesn't have anything party-ish outfit.

Think. Think. Shopping!!

Errr.

Shopping needs money. I'm broke. I had to send Tiger to the vet early this month and it costs me RM260. PTPTN RM300...Car RM....dammit.

Vets are making loads of money, don't they?

So, should I say I'm lucky to have won it or just bad luck?

Maybe I should just go. How does it feel to be glamorous and being surrounded by fashionistas?

Sigh.

*EH! is like a Malay version of ELLE. Under BluInc group. At least better than any Karangkraf mags.

106 days

I would like to announce that my wedding is another 106 days to go.

Panic attack!

The preparation has been ok. Half way through. Certain things need to be very very detailed. Pressure comes from all sources - mom, dad, siblings and of course M.O.N.E.Y.

Money has always been the issue. Just look at the world today. Corruptions are everywhere. Why? Because of that dirty little word called "money".

Money is evil. And we cannot live without it.

That's a fact.

First Chapter: An epigrammatic story

" Epigrammatic adj expressing sth, or expressed, in a brief, clever and amusing way "

The title sounds dramatic, doesn't it? As if it comes from a writer or poet or something.

I always wanted to write. Just don't think I have the 'gift' to do so.

Life is full of drama. Probably that's the reason behind the title of my first ever serious-blog.

I have created a blog before but it was too childish for a twenty-six year old gal like me. So I decided to create another one. This one may look more serious.

I want to be serious.
It's time for me to be serious.
But this doesn't mean I've changed into someone serious.
More mature, I would say.

This is my life. My stories. It would not be that epigrammatic to some people maybe, because mind you I write craps sometimes.

But who cares.
